If You’re Job Searching, This is For You!

When you’re in the middle of a job hunt, the little things can make a big difference — and yes, that includes your voicemail. 📞

You might not think twice about it, but a full or outdated voicemail can be the silent killer of opportunities. Imagine a hiring manager trying to call you with good news… only to hear, “This mailbox is full.” Ouch.

Here’s how to make sure your voicemail works for you, not against you:

1. Delete Old Messages

Clear out your inbox so you never miss a call that matters. Recruiters won’t wait around for you to make space.

2. Leave a Personal (and Professional) Greeting

Skip the robotic default. Record a short, friendly, and polished message — something like:

“Hi, this is [Your Name]. I can’t take your call right now, but please leave your name, number, and a message, and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can. Thank you!”

3. Stand Up + Smile While Recording

It sounds silly, but your posture and facial expression do change how your voice sounds. Standing and smiling makes you sound confident, approachable, and engaged.

Remember, your voicemail is part of your first impression. Treat it like a handshake — firm, friendly, and professional.

Because in job searching, every detail counts.
