From Burnout to Purpose: My Journey from Teaching to Career Coaching

The Breaking Point: Overworked and Exhausted
For years, I was an overworked, type-A teacher who poured everything into my students. Yet, I was always exhausted. At the time, I had no idea I was living with AuDHD, which made my struggles even harder. The constant stress began to take a toll on my mental and physical health. I knew something had to change.
Researching My Way to Freedom
Determined to find a new path, I researched everything I could about career transitions. I dove deep into resume writing, interviewing, negotiating, LinkedIn branding, and personal career growth. I didn’t just want a job—I wanted a life where I felt fulfilled, balanced, and valued.
Helping Friends, Then Friends of Friends
As I started seeing results in my own career shift, friends began asking for my help. They wanted guidance on resumes, interviews, and job searches. Before I knew it, their friends started reaching out, too. Was this really happening? Could my knowledge help others achieve the same success?
Turning a Side Hustle into a Calling
At the time, I had a tutoring side gig because, let’s be honest, a teacher’s salary wasn’t enough. But I took a leap of faith. I gave up tutoring and started writing resumes instead. I had no idea this decision would lead me to a career I love.
A Leap of Faith That Changed My Life
I took a chance on myself, and today, I’m in awe of the incredible people who have trusted me with their careers. Watching them land better jobs, earn competitive salaries, achieve work-life balance, and regain confidence has been the greatest reward.
Gratitude and Growth
From feeling stuck as an 18-year Spanish teacher to empowering others to find joy, fulfillment, and financial success in their careers—this journey has been nothing short of amazing. I feel privileged and grateful to work with the best client-friends ever.
A Celebration of Blessings
Now, this is how I’m celebrating Friday, the 14th—by reflecting on how far I’ve come and how many lives I’ve impacted.
To those who have trusted me, believed in me, and allowed me to be part of your career journey, thank you. Mil gracias, Diosito. xo
