Networking Doesn't Have to Feel Gross — I Promise

June 18, 2025 by Katie Travis |Leave a Comment

I know, I know…
Most of us would rather clean the bathroom (gasp!) than network.
Seriously.

But hear me out—because building genuine connections?
It can absolutely change the game.

In just the past two weeks, I’ve introduced three job seekers to business owners with openings.
Three. All through networking.

No awkward small talk. No fake salesy pitches.
Just real people helping real people.

The secret?
Take a deep breath.
Be yourself.
And always give more than you ask for.

That’s it.

You don’t have to be the loudest voice in the room.
You don’t need a perfectly polished elevator pitch.

You just need to show up with authenticity, a willingness to listen, and a heart that’s open to giving value.
(And yes, it’s totally okay to be nervous!)

If you’re looking to grow your network or get connected to opportunities, I’m always happy to help.
I share practical tips, job-search advice, and sometimes even a direct introduction or two.

So come on over and find me on LinkedIn!
Let’s build something meaningful—together.
