To Those Who Love Like a Mom: A Mother's Day Reflection
May 12, 2025 by Katie Travis |Leave a Comment
Happy Mother’s Day to all those who love like a mom!
💯 Being a teacher and a parent is tough. Somehow, you manage to raise your own children while shaping the lives of future leaders in your classroom. #yourock
But let’s be real—there is no balance until summer.
I 【KNOW】 how hard you ᴡᴏʀᴋ.
I 【KNOW】 how much you ɢɪᴠᴇ.
I 【KNOW】 the guilt of giving your all at school, then coming home completely drained.
When Motherhood Changed Everything
Becoming a mom was the turning point that led me to leave the classroom.
I realized I had become just an okay teacher, an okay mom, and an okay wife. And I wasn’t okay with that.
Our families deserve the best versions of us—not what’s left after everyone else has taken a piece.
It Is Possible
You absolutely 【CAN】 get hired outside of education.
You absolutely 【CAN】 have work/life balance and earn a competitive salary.
🙌🏼 Just last week, 【TWO】 former teacher clients signed new job offers!
To Those Still Waiting
And to those longing for a family of their own—
The wait. The yearning. The devastation. The cycle that feels endless.
Please know this: You are not alone. 💗
This Mother's Day, let’s celebrate all forms of love, care, and perseverance.
You are doing more than enough—and you deserve to thrive, not just survive.
